Emotion-Focused Therapy Module 2

Date: 16 Apr 2024 - 18 Apr 2024

Singapore

Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) is an empirically-supported humanistic treatment that views emotions as centrally important in human functioning and therapeutic change. This experiential approach integrates person centered therapy, gestalt therapy and existential therapy. Persons receiving EFT treatment become stronger and are more skillful in accessing the important information and meanings about themselves and their world that emotions contain, and become more skillful in using that information to live vitally and adaptively.

A short break will follow to allow for reflections and networking.

The second segment of the seminar is an interactive session with Sharon Lu, Clinical Psychologist at Institute of Mental Health. The topic is around the workbook that she has co-authored – Transforming Emotional Pain: An Emotion Focused Workbook. We will cover how this workbook could be adopted by clinicians.

There will be a small group of EFT practitioners sharing their personal journeys of learning EFT; participants can understand what was challenging or rewarding, how EFT differs from other modalities and glean basic EFT takeaways of how to access and work with emotions in session.

This seminar is tailored for mental health professionals from various training backgrounds who are curious about Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) or wish to incorporate elements of EFT into their practice.
